LES OISEAUX
LES OISEAUX is a series of screen prints based on familiar landscape imagery expressed in artificial colour scapes.
Circles and bold lines are recurring themes in both in my two and three dimensional work. The circles in this series are disproportionally large to create dramatic, shimmering spotlights.
The colours used draw on the colour palettes that I experienced in traditional and contemporary Chinese painting during my arts residency in China. The prints are hand pulled using acrylic inks mixed with gold or silver pigments, metallic inks and pearlescent mediums.
